I can't tell you how much I love writing music. It's one of the most awesome things a human can do. That's why I'm passionate about helping every musician that I can to get better at writing music.

It doesn't matter if you want to be a 20-time Grammy winner, or if you just want to express your emotions through your own music. It doesn't matter if you want your music heard by millions, or if you write just for yourself. Composition and Songwriting is for all musicians.

As you probably know: Writing music isn't always easy. And I hear this common misconception all the time: "The ability to write music is a gift, and I just don't have that gift."

But here's the truth: Composition is a craft, and you can learn it.

These are three most common problems I hear from those new to writing music, and perhaps this is where you are right now:
1) I don't even know where to begin.
2) I have written some stuff, but it's always incoherent, and I can't ever finish a project
3) I have no way of knowing if I'm doing this right.

Most people that ask Reddit about these things get the response "Just write a bunch of music." And while that's not entirely wrong, it's also not very helpful.

I was there. I have dealt with all three of those problems. They all feel insurmountable - but it's not true.

So, let me tell you a story.

My first song was awful. Truly terrible.

When I was a teenager, I had just learned guitar and was ready to write some music. Except, I had no access to private songwriting or composition lessons. So, I just started making stuff up. And it wasn't good.

Even when I did take a composition class 10 years later, it was mostly analysis of other composer's works. It wasn't until I had someone guide me through the entire process for taking an idea, and turning it into a cohesive work of music that I actually starting making progress as a composer.

Now my music has been performed around the world, and I work full-time as a composer and music theorist, writing music and helping every musician realize their potential to express themselves through composition - and that includes you.

I want to save you from all of the years that I stumbled around, hoping that one day it would (maybe) just "click."
I want to give you all of the tools you need to not only write your first work, but to repeatedly turn your ideas into musical expression - making your only limitation your imagination.

That's why I created this course. I've systemized over 20 years of lessons I learned the hard way, and I've packaged them into a curated online course - the very course I would have loved to have back as an aspiring composer.

I want you to imagine what the ability to write your own music would give you: Creative expression, a personal challenge, a sense of achievement, an outlet for passion and emotion, collaboration with other musicians and the community it brings, new perspectives on the world and life, a deepening your understanding of music as a whole, just to name a few. We're going to unleash a creativity in you that you may not even know you had.

All of these possibilities could start in the next 30 days.

Introducing...

My 30-day comprehensive beginner's guide to writing songs and instrumental pieces.

You may be asking: Why 30 days? I've seen videos that say "Learn to write your first song in 1 hour"

1) You're learning a new skill. This takes time.

With the amount of information I am giving you, and the number of exercise I'm providing (as you'll see below), 30 days is a very reasonable and sustainable period of time for this project. I'm intentionally slowing you down, and this will allow you to give ample time to each assignment. Failure is often inevitable when you aren't willing to put in the work.

2) Other life responsibilities

Most people that have gone through the course are balancing school, or a job, or both; and I imagine that you are too.

3) This course isn't just designed to help you write one piece of music.

I'm giving you a repeatable process that you can use to write as much music as you'd like!

This course breaks up the composition process into four easy-to-understand phases, and we will go over in detail how to organize and complete each step in each phase.

You'll learn repeatable processes for how to:
- come up with musical ideas in your head
- get those ideas out of your head and organized
- study and analyze music like a composer (without music theory)
- plan your piece (no matter how big it is)
- write musical lyrics that tell stories
- write emotions as music
- craft your idea into a musical thought
- edit your music so it goes from good to great
- write down your music to hand to players
- record a demo of your music in your home

Let's take a look at each of the four Modules inside this course:

Phase 1: Planning

Every composition starts with a plan. And every plan starts with an idea. Here's where you'll take an idea and craft it into a blueprint for your composition.

Phase 2: Writing

This is where your ideas start to come to life. We'll take that blueprint, and we'll craft it into a musical narrative. A cohesive work that matches your creative vision.

Phase 3: Editing

This phase may be difficult and tedious, but it is what will take your piece from good to great. You'll analyze your own work, and get feedback from others that will make your music better.

Phase 4: Transferral

Now that you've finished your work, it's time to get it out there in the world. We'll look at how to write down your composition to hand to other musicians to play, and how to record a demo of your work.

The process that I teach in this course is the same process that I use daily as a professional composer - I'm not going to show you anything that I don't use myself.

I understand that music as a whole can be a very expensive field to get into - especially something niche like composition.

You've really only got a few options to learn what is included in this course - and they aren't even viable options for so many musicians.

The average cost in the US of a single semester of private music lessons is $1200. That's about the same price as taking a 3 credit composition course at an in-state university (out of state is much more). This cost can be restrictive and exclusive for a lot of potential composers - not to mention the lack of access to private instructors and university classes for most people.

Or, you can do what I did for so many years, and just try to fake it until you make it - you could be years down the road and still not any closer to completing a piece you're proud of.

I understand how frustrating this is - to not have the money, the access, or the knowledge to pursue writing music.

That's why I'm offering Start Write Now for only $116 - that's 90% less than private lessons or a university class.

I've got for you over 5 hours of video lessons that are stuffed full of practical lessons and exercises, complete with resources and tools that you'll need for writing.
